This weekend started of with a bang with Hadley sleeping through the night on Thursday night. We put her to bed at her normal time which is around 9:00 pm and she didn’t get up until 7:00 the next morning. We were so surprised, I even checked the batteries on the monitor to make sure it was still working and I didn’t miss her middle of the night beckon for her mama. John and I thought that we couldn’t be lucky enough for it to happen again, and then Friday night she did it again! She slept until about 6:30 on Saturday morning. Even though little Hadley was sleeping well, I was still waking up every couple of hours, I kept thinking “she has to be getting up soon…”, but our little girl slept well again. She did wake up on Saturday night around 3:00 am to eat, but that was alright with us. We were just happy that she had slept through the night, and we’re hoping that it will be more consistent in the coming days. At least now we know it’s achievable! Pretty good for only 10 weeks old huh?
It reached 78 degrees here in Portland on Saturday. We spent the day going on a nice long walk to a neighbors little league game with Hadley. I did some gardening and John mowed the lawn. John took some great pictures of the flowers in the yard and our beautiful magnolia tree. Check them out here.
I’m heading back to work on May 1st and am really starting to dread it. It has been so fun getting to know the newest little part of our family. She’s become my little buddy and my sidekick and I will miss her so much while I’m at work. I will only be working part time for the first three months and I’m very grateful for that. We’ve been keeping busy with “Book Babies” at the library, “Mommy Matinee” movies at the McMenamins theaters, Baby and Me group at the hospital, Thursday afternoon coffee and playdate at Sip and Kranz, Gymboree and lunches with Daddy. What in the world did we do with our time before the baby?
WOW!!! Heather… would you mind terribly to please please email me and tell me what you did to potentially help this miracle of all miracles happen….we are cross-eyed here from lack of sleep and desperate for new strategies. Do you have a bedtime routine? Was she especially active during the days? Are you guys doing any formula? Are you still doing the Baby Whisperer method (put down while drowsy but awake)? My email is: mel.barbour@yahoo.com I would love to pick your brain…you’re doing something very right!!
Shar ewith me too!! Connor is 9 mos now and is up at least twice a night still!!
Congratulations on a sleepy McPhee!!
